Lesson Plans and Unit of Instruction
The unit of instruction is designed for trainers. These learners are educators in a vocational educational training environment in whcih they create affective training for their target group. Their students are adults with diverse training needs ranging from competencies in elementary educattion to high school and beyond.
The goal is to use multimedia learning principles to assist trainers in extending their skills in developing effective online courses.
The course of instruction is a 5 lesson series entitled Introduction to Multimedia. The lessons will demonstrate to the trainers how to design effective visuals for lessons to meet the needs or a variety of learners using online delivery.
Duration of course: 5 Weeks
Learners have mixed levels of experience in online lesson design. The sample lessons featured herein are designed for delivery through the ITAL Learning Management System (LMS). Learners will demonstrate an understanding of design elements, principles, and other design considerations prior to the course.
Activities are designed for asynchronous online learning to include collaboration in discussion forums.
