My Reflections
Annotating one's reflections has been an integral component of the learning process throughout the educational technology program. The practice represents the opportunity to synthesize the various aspects of the learning effort. The reflections are not merely a review of course materials but instead a tract for assimilating knowledge through a deliberate cognitive effort. The earnest, personal inquiry of sorting and seeking, sometimes implausable, associations between new information and prior knowledge, form the basis of this approach to promote deep learning.
Therefore this collection of reflections highlight some of my attempts to query, validate, and rationalize some of the instructional materials I used to improve my understanding on various topics. The reflections demonstrate clear evidence of intellectual growth and a pattern of developing knowledge through deep introspection from interaction with course materials, instructors, and peers. While these entries do not always show complete coherence and a logical flow they serve to introduce the viewer to an environment of cognitive dilemmas, and intellectual struggles.
My reflections are complex yet definitive samples of an active process of acquiring the educational technology vernacular and querying the basis of theories and philosophical constructs. The foundations for developing technical skills and other competencies of the discipline are also present. The reflections are included as a means of providing a crucial aperture to the dynamic processes of my learning and to make the necessary correlations with the rationale paper, artifacts, and reflection video in the portfolio.
